2016 Broncos-Chiefs Week 16: By The Numbers

All I want this year for Christmas is a Broncos win.

The 8-6 Denver Broncos have gotten themselves to the point where ‘All Games Matter.’ They face the 10-4 Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day with the intent of stealing a victory at Arrowhead Stadium. Linebacker Todd Davis broke down the team’s mindset for the rest of the season:

“Every game is do-or-die. We’re playing these games like they’re playoff games and now that just intensifies. We have to come ready to play because we know that the Chiefs and Raiders will [be ready]. We just have to come ready to play our best game.”

Cornerback Chris Harris Jr. added to the urgency, saying;

“We’ve been in desperation mode since [Week 10 against] the Saints. We’re just losing.”

The Chiefs have a similar mindset, but they have a chance at their first Division title since Josh McDaniels was canned (2010). They are one game behind Oakland for 1st place and hold the tiebreaker if they can catch the Raiders, so there’s plenty at stake.

Kansas City Wide Receiver Jeremy Maclin on the Chiefs mindset this week;

“The playoffs start right now. We have a Denver team, the defending champs, coming in next week and if we want to achieve what we want to achieve, we need to take care of them.”

NBC (KUSA-TV) has the broadcast, so look for the stammering Al Michaels (play-by-play), the irrepressible Cris Collinsworth (color analyst) and the lost Michele Tafoya (sideline) to ruin Christmas dinner if you leave the volume up.

The Broncos and Chiefs have met 112 times in their series, with the Chiefs holding the upper hand, 58-54. The Broncos are 19-36 in Kansas City.
